First day –

Arrival and room assignment at the Hotel President in Prato. Departure of the trek with a visit to the area from the beautiful village of Artimino, the ancient Artemium

founded on settlements which have been known since the Bronze Age. From the center of the village, where we will admire the old walls and the famous Porta Turrita, we will head towards the Medici Villa Ferdinanda, or the "Hundred Chimneys", of which we will admire the external architecture, reconstructing its particular history. We will then set off towards Poggio la Malva and the Etruscan Necropolis of Prato Rosello, originated in the period

Orientalizing Etruscan, circa 7th century BC. With beautiful views over the Arno we will focus on recent history with the assault of the Buricchi Brigade on the convoy of explosives in 1944 along a short evocative stretch. We will see the historic Porta del Barchetto and go up among large fields and vineyards to the beautiful Parish Church of San Leonardo, a vivid example of Romanesque Abbey architecture.

The trekking itinerary consists of visiting:

• Artimino

• Villa La Ferdinanda (external only)

• Etruscan Necropolis of Prato Rosello

• Poggio alla Malva

• The Barchetto Gate

• The Parish Church of San Leonardo (external only).

For those who are not interested in trekking (with a reduced price), we suggest visiting Artimino and Carmignano independently.

Return to the facility, dinner in a local restaurant and overnight stay.

Second Day –

Breakfast at the Hotel President. Morning dedicated to the marbled paper laboratory on the ancient coloring technique

of the paper at the Leonardo Aps Art School Association.

A technique already in use since the 16th century in the Mediterranean basin, it has come down to us thanks to its renewed use in the 1970s by Florentine artisans, also known as Carte Fiorentina. A technique aimed at personalizing papers with colors that vibrate and create imaginative and nuanced decorative motifs. The marbled sheets of paper can be used as coverings for wooden objects, polysterol, terracotta vases....The technical process uses water as an element from which to transfer the colour, expertly sprayed, on the surface of the same to the sheet of paper . The design formed by the color spots creates waves, veins, spots similar to marble guided if desired by the use of a

special comb. Each participant will be able to create a marbled paper work to take with them as a reminder of the experience lived among colours, water and imaginative artisanal perceptions. At the end of the workshop, light lunch.

Once the agency informs the client about the recommendation to contract insurance for the trip, it is the client who can contract insurance with the agency, or contract it directly with whoever they want.
