Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is one of Europe’s oldest cities, where layers of Roman, Ottoman, and modern history coexist. Yet what makes Sofia particularly compelling is its visible socialist-era legacy, which still shapes the city’s architecture, urban layout, and cultural identity. Discover Sofia’s socialist past through immersive and authentic experiences. This short experience combines a guided discovery of the city’s communist-era landmarks with a unique self-guided visit to a preserved socialist apartment, offering insight into everyday life during that period.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Sofia: Bulgaria’s vibrant capital, where history meets modern life. During the communist period, Sofia was transformed with monumental architecture, wide boulevards and symbolic landmarks that still define parts of the city today. Its socialist heritage is not hidden but deeply embedded in its public spaces, making Sofia an especially interesting destination for anyone interested in 20th‑century history, ideology, and urban planning.

Red Flat: A unique, fully preserved socialist-era apartment that recreates everyday life in Bulgaria during the 1980s, offering a rare and personal perspective on the past.
