The Highlights of Balkan tour is an in-depth 10-day journey through the cultural heart of Southeast Europe, covering six countries and an exceptional variety of landscapes, traditions, and historical influences. Travelling from the vibrant riverside capital of Belgrade to the medieval Adriatic cities of Dubrovnik, Kotor, and Budva, the itinerary combines iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites with lesser-known regional gems. The route reveals the Balkans’ complex past through Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian legacies, visible in architecture, cuisine, and daily life. Scenic coastal drives, mountain national parks, historic bazaars, and ancient fortresses are balanced with guided city tours and relaxed free time. The journey also highlights the region’s multicultural character, from Sarajevo’s religious diversity to Ohrid’s lakeside heritage and Albania’s historic strongholds. This tour is ideal for travellers seeking a comprehensive, well-paced introduction to the Balkans, blending history, nature, and authentic local experiences in one seamless round trip.
