Día 1: Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Phitsanuloke [– /A/C]

Empezamos la jornada saliendo del hotel, donde realizamos recogida en los principales de Bangkok. La visita del día de hoy empieza con la salida desde el hotel y la llegada al extraordinario parque arqueológico de Ayutthaya, donde seguro no nos cansaremos de contemplar sus maravillosos y exuberantes templos. Ayutthaya fue capital del reino del mismo nombre desde 1371 hasta 1700 aproximadamente, para pasar a ser después el Reino de Siam y abarcar así gran parte de la actual Tailandia y la vecina Camboya. Visitamos los templos más representativos: el Wat Chaiwathanaram y el Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, impresionantes lugares por descubrir. A continuación visita al templo Wat Muang, testimonio de antigüedad y grandeza. Presumiblemente, esta fundación sagrada se estableció en 1687, un eco lejano de la era crepuscular de la gloria de Ayutthaya, dentro de los opulentos confines de Wiset Chai Chan, nacida de sus bulliciosas rutas comerciales. Con una extensión aproximada de 28 acres, la magnificencia de Wat Muang se personifica en la resplandeciente figura de la imagen de Buda Luang Pho Yai en postura de Mara Subyugadora, también venerada como Phra Phuttha Maha Nawamin Sakayamuni Si Wiset Chai Chan. Con una anchura de 63 metros y una altura colosal de 95 metros, esta estatua dorada cautiva la mirada del observador desde lejos. Después continuamos trayecto hasta Phitsanuloke, capital de provincia y destino ideal para los amantes de la belleza natural. Almuerzo en restaurante local. Cena y alojamiento en el hotel.

Día 2: Phitsanuloke – Sukhothai – Chiang Rai [D/A/C]

Desayuno en el hotel y salida con rumbo al templo más sagrado de Phitsanuloke. Tiempo hoy para visitar las ruinas del Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha That, un templo Real del s. XIV. Conocido por los locales como “Wat Yai” fue fundado por el rey Lithai de Sukhothai, y contiene una famosa imagen de oro de Buda. Después de este buen comienzo continuamos la visita hacia el Parque Histórico de Sukhotai, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y considerado como el primer reino tailandés (s. XIII), anterior a Ayutthaya. Daremos un relajado paseo en bicicleta por los llanos Jardines de Sukhothai, entre ruinas y lagos, y contemplaremos uno de los iconos más importantes de la zona, el gran Buda Blanco de Wat Sri Chum (Templo del Árbol Sagrado), la mano del cual, recubierta de pan de oro y apoyada en su rodilla, es venerada con gran fervor por los locales. Por la tarde, nos dirigimos a Chiang Rai, con parada obligatoria en el pintoresco Lago Phayao, en el valle del río Ing. Almuerzo en restaurante local. Cena y alojamiento en hotel.

Día 3: Chiang Rai – Triángulo De Oro – Chiang Mai [D/A/C]

Desayuno en hotel. Tras el desayuno, primera parada para visitar el Wat Rong Khun también conocido como el “Templo Blanco”, obra del artista plástico y diseñador local Chalermchai Kositpipat, quien comenzó el proyecto en 1997. Visitaremos también el Wat Rong Suean Ten, conocido como el “Templo Azul” o “Templo del Tigre Danzante”: este nuevo santuario budista tiene como elemento característico el juego de colores entre el azul y amarillo, que decora todo el edificio y el color blanco que decora las principales figuras de Buda que se encuentran en su interior. A media mañana visitaremos el famoso triángulo de oro, punto de reunión de los países Laos, Birmania y Tailandia, pero la gente local conoce este sitio como “Sop Ruak”. Desde lo alto de una colina se puede disfrutar de las magníficas vistas del río Mekong y el río Ruak, su afluente, el cual divide geométricamente la frontera entre los tres países, la famosa forma triangular. A continuación visita a la casa del Opio. Almuerzo en restaurante local. Salida desde Chiang Rai a Chiang Mai por carretera (3 hrs) y por la tarde, visita al templo más conocido de la ciudad, el Wat Doi Suthep, situado en la cima de una pequeña colina a 15 Kms al noroeste. En esto templo, el más sagrado del norte, por la tarde se puede escuchar los cantos de los monjes. Traslado y check-in en el hotel. Cena y alojamiento en Hotel.

Día 4: Chiang Mai – Santuario De Elefantes – Chiang Mai [D/A/– ]

Desayuno en el hotel. La injusta explotación de los elefantes ha contribuido durante años al maltrato animal; por ello se han creado los "santuarios de elefantes", tranquilos lugares donde gozan de una excelente calidad de vida y de los cuidados necesarios. Remansos de paz que, a su vez, perpetúan la especie. Salimos temprano, por carretera y a través de un paisaje escénico formado por extensas áreas agrícolas y frondosos bosques, hacia un proyecto eco sostenible de conservación de estos animales. Conoceremos sus particulares historias y tendremos la oportunidad de alimentarles, bajo la supervisión del personal. Opcionalmente, antes del retorno a Chiang Mai, visita del pueblo de mujeres jirafa Karen, cuya antigua tradición consiste en colocarles una larga y pesada barra de latón en espiral alrededor del cuello. Completamos la visita en una plantación de orquídeas, cultivo muy introducido en la cultura tailandesa, cuyo interior contiene un mariposario con insólitas especies. Después del almuerzo llega el momento del traslado hasta el aeropuerto de Chiang Mai para tomar el vuelo de salida hacia el próximo destino. Almuerzo en un restaurante local.
